Administrative Secretary for Career Services

A Brief Overview:

Provides the necessary administrative support to the Career Services department.  Ensures the efficient operations of all activities within the department; coordinates and assists with the interaction of students, alumni, faculty and staff of ORU, and the representatives of external organizations engaged in student employment/ career related activities with Career Services.  Provides backup and support to the activities of the Director and Career Advisor in their absence or during periods of high volume of student activity.

Duties include answering and screens incoming telephone calls, providing relevant information to employers, supplying instructions to students in regards to online resources, post with job postings/internships, process necessary paperwork for employment, greet a screen offices visitors, answer and screen incoming phone calls and other duties assigned.

What you'll need to be successful:   

         A service-minded attitude.

         Proven ability and problem solving skills.

         Ability to work independently.

         A High School Diploma or GED.

         Three years of applicable experience.

Physical &Environmental Demands: 
Will include but not be limited to:  sitting, standing, bending, stooping, walking, crouching, manual dexterity for operation of office machines/computer equipment, and twisting of upper body.  Vision to include: near, far, and color.  Requires good hearing.  Minimal lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds of office supplies.
