Assistant Coach, Womenís Volleyball

Full-time

Supervises and manages the day-to-day operations of the athletic team, including coaching, recruiting and fund-raising activities.  Provides leadership and support for the vision and strategies of the department and university.

Requires a Bachelorís degree in a related field.  Two (2) years of experience as a junior college, college or university coach or assistant coach in this sport is strongly preferred.  Previous experience in supervising coaching staff is required. Experience in recruiting players is helpful.  

Candidates should be proficient in the use of Microsoft software to include both Word and Excel.  Candidate(s) must be willing to learn other software applications that are indigenous to operations in Athletics.  Must be able to articulate thoughts well for the purpose of effectively communicating information one-on-one, in groups or in large public settings.   Excellent interpersonal skills are paramount for effective communication with people from diverse backgrounds.  Have a displayed ability to be a self-starter and works well both as a team member and independently. Must have an eye for detail with regard to mailing pieces and all other forms of communications that represent the University and Athletics.  Good reading, mathematical, oral, written, and grammatical skills are a must.  Must have the ability to handle the stress associated with meeting deadlines for projects in the midst of handling interruptions. Quickly establishes and maintains rapport with alumni, students, faculty, university staff, and administration. 

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS will include but not be limited to:  sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting of upper body, reaching, pushing, holding/grasping, pulling, running, jumping, throwing and manual dexterity also used in the operation of office machines/equipment.  Occasional lifting of equipment weighing up to 25 lbs. required.  Must be able to perform the same type of physical demands associated with the sport for the purpose of demonstrating during training.   Must have the ability to stand for extended periods.  Vision to include:  near, far, visual accommodation, color, peripheral, and depth perception.  Must be able to hear sound(s) clearly and distinctly in order to effectively receive, understand and reiterate information.

Support, coordinate, and assist with all elements of the process involved with guiding, educating, facilitating, and preparing students and alumni at varying stages to successfully transition through their academic program into successful and rewarding careers.

Bachelorís degree in required and one (1) year experience preferred.  Must be proficient in Microsoft software to include Word and Excel.  Familiarity with Microsoft Power Point and Access is a plus.  Must be proficient in navigating the Internet for the purpose of researching and retrieving information.  Good reading, mathematical, oral, written, grammatical, and organizational skills are a must.  Must be able to articulate information well both verbally and in written form.  Must have the ability to assist students in collectively compiling the most appropriate information for the purpose of designing their resume.  Must be able to quickly establish and maintain rapport with alumni, students, parents, faculty, and administration.  Works cooperatively with a variety of personalities.  Excellent interpersonal skills are paramount for effective communication with students, staff, faculty, parents, external contacts, administration and people from various backgrounds.

Dean of Online

The Dean leads ongoing strategic visioning for the department and is responsible for all academic programs and services. The Dean provides intellectual and academic leadership for faculty/staff in matters related to curriculum, best practices, and faculty development.

Requires a Doctorate degree in an appropriate field.  Requires five or more years' leadership experience at the college level in curriculum design and assessment, and a minimum of five years of teaching experience in a baccalaureate or higher-level system. Knowledge of current trends and opportunities in assessment and curriculum delivery strategies is required. Management experience is especially helpful. Must have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; superior analytical skills; and excellent managerial and leadership skills.

Director of University Communications

Manage the development and production publications, letters, speeches, Web page content, advertising, and other forms of communication that enhance the reputation, outreach, and recognition of the university. Work with the Executive Director for University Relations and Communications to implement communications strategies and tactics for various university departments or the Office of the President.

Requires a bachelorís degree in related field, such as, English, Journalism, Writing, Public relations, Communications, etc., and five years of experience as a magazine editor and writer, with outstanding proofreading skills. Ability to juggle multiple publications, meet tight deadlines, direct the work of photographers and artists, ghostwrite, conduct telephone and face-to-face interviews, and write in an office atmosphere with frequent interruptions. Requires three years of experience giving direction to writers, artists, and photographers in the production of print and Web material. Prefer experience in a university setting. Knowledge of ORU and its history and people is a plus. This person should be ďwell-read,Ē naturally inquisitive about people, and exhibit an innate desire for interaction.  Must be able to handle multi-tasks in the midst of a sometimes fast-paced office environment.  Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft software, to include Word and Excel.

Recruiter/Territory Manager for Undergraduate Admissions

Territory Managers are responsible for managing the recruitment efforts for assigned regions within the United States.  They perform all significant recruiting and admissions functions necessary for the university to successfully accomplish its educational business and serve the admissions needs of the customers of the university.

Requires a Bachelorís Degree (ORU graduate preferred.) and one (1) year of related work experience in a similar work setting preferred.  Must be computer literate to include: Word, Excel and Power Point.  Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and be able to articulate information well, both verbally and in written form.  Must be self-motivated and able to prioritize projects; able to use sound judgment regarding organizational and departmental regulations, procedures, and policies; and quickly establish and maintain rapport with students, faculty, alumni, administration, and parents from varying cultural backgrounds.  Must have the ability to prioritize multi-tasks in the midst of a fast-paced, high-demand work environment while always maintaining a professional demeanor.

Senior Director of Development & Alumni Relations

Full-time

Directs and manages all development (fundraising) and ministry and alumni relations for ORU.  Provides strategy and direction for establishing and improving relationships and fundraising with friends, ministries and alumni. 

A Bachelorís degree is required; a Masterís degree is preferred.  A degree from ORU is strongly preferred. A minimum of ten years successful practical experience in development, solicitations, alumni/public relations, marketing, or related field required.  Prior management experience required. 

Must have experience in collaborative designing of effective communications through a variety of mediums to include direct mail and e-communications, to both defined and diverse target groups, some of which are geographically and demographically disbursed.  Must have proven success in conducting effective market analysis for the purpose of educating, cultivating and soliciting target group. 

Must have proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software.  Good reading, mathematical, oral & written communication, interpersonal, grammatical, editing, and proofreading skills are a must.  Must have the ability to handle the stress associated with meeting deadlines for multiple projects in the midst of handling interruptions, as well as, exercise diplomacy when confronted with difficult questions or situations.   Must be a self-starter and work well both as a team member and independently. Must be able to exercise sound judgment regarding organizational and departmental regulations, procedures, and policies.

Womenís Residence Hall Director

Full-time 10 months

Assists the Dean of Women in the overall supervision of all undergraduate female students with specific responsibility to the residence hall to which they are assigned.

Requires a Bachelorís degree and one year experience in residential life.  On-going Masterís work in counseling related field preferred.  Good written, oral, interpersonal, leadership, administrative, and organizational skills a must.  Must be able to handle emergency situations and make sound on-the-spot decisions. 

Must live on campus and be on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Lifestyle must be in complete accord with the ORU Honor Code.
