Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Online and Lifelong Learning

A Brief Overview:

This position is responsible for the administrative, secretarial and budget functions of the Dean's office and has the responsibility to implement the daily routine of the office while serving as liaison for the Dean as needed.  This person will manage special assignments and projects in matters pertaining to the administration of the school that include special events, receptions, etc. The administrative assistant will also process and respond to international communication in Spanish, therefore a bilingual (English-Spanish) person is preferred.

         5 years of experience in the field.

         Proficiency in Spanish.

A Brief Overview:

This position meets and counsels with graduate and Online Campus students and parents for the purpose of awarding and processing both federal and private student aid in accordance with federal, institutional and/or other appropriate regulations, policies and guidelines. Communicates with students for the purpose of insuring that they are aware of the deadlines associated with applying for financial aid.  Makes certain students have access to, or provides them with proper forms to complete in order to receive financial aid and other duties assigned.

Library Computer Support Specialist

A Brief Overview:

Serves as IT Services support for the ORU Library to enable faculty, staff and students access to equipment, and software. Some duties include answering Tier 1 inquiries regarding computer software and hardware operations. This position will also provide computer support by preparing computers, troubleshooting and resolving computer, peripherals, and network connectivity problems. This position is vital in ensuring that all computer equipment is running efficiently and is responsible for training library staff on how to effectively/efficiently use computer equipment. Among other duties assigned.

The Library computer support specialist may require occasional work outside of and in addition to the normally scheduled office hours, including evenings and weekends as dictated.

 

What you'll need to be successful:   

         A service-minded attitude.

         Proven ability and problem solving skills.

         Ability to work independently.

         Knowledge and experience with Windows 7, outlook, Mac OS, remote desktop and MS office products required. (Experience with AD, Windows 8.1 and desktop imaging tools preferred.)

         High School Diploma or GED required.  Vocational or Technical School training/certification in related field highly preferred.

         A+ certification required.  Other computer related certifications will be given consideration.

         Requires one year work experience OR equivalent technical school training.

Senior Institutional Research Associate

Duties:

Conduct and analyze surveys and research used to support short and long term assessment and planning goals of the University. Will be responsible for assessment, evaluation, and quality control of online programs. Work closely with the Dean of Online and Life Long Learning with certificate assessment, both for credit and not for credit certificates. Analyze various data sets in order to compile periodic reports and publications; complete external surveys from third party constituents; assist with national survey administration; write summary reports of survey results. Assist in implementation of the program review and assessment processes. Assist with ePortfolio training and help desk. Maintain institutional research and assessment web sites. Prepare statistical reports and data used in response to both internal and external requests; must be capable of establishing and maintaining working relationships with the Colleges and departments. Will also assist with accreditation and program review functions. Other responsibilities as needs arise.

 

Qualifications:

Doctorate in computer science, statistics, management information systems, educational measurement, or a quantitative social science. Higher education experience preferred. Must possess extensive knowledge of empirical research methodology, sampling techniques, higher order statistical analysis, and corresponding software. Ability to use SQL for extracting information and completing reports in an Oracle environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Effective organizational skills and time management skills are indispensable.

Verification Processing Specialist

This position assists the Verification Coordinator in processing Verification documents and in communicating with the students regarding their Verification statuses in accordance with federal, institutional and/or other appropriate regulations, policies, and guidelines. This position also Maintains accurate files and records for Verification processing and filing, Stays current with and ensures compliance with federal, state, and university regulations, policies, and guidelines. Makes updates on Banner as needed for Verification and C-flag processing, among other duties assigned.
