Assistant Director - Undergraduate Admissions

Full-time

The Assistant Director of Recruitment serves as the manager of the Admissions Welcome Center, supervising and directing the activities of ORU Territory Managers who serve prospective students and families from the point of inquiry to the point of matriculation. The Assistant Director of Recruitment also oversees the coordination, operation and logistics of ORU’s Campus Visit Programs to ensure a quality visit experience for campus guests. This individual serves as a vital member of the Admissions and Recruitment team responsible for meeting ORU’s new student enrollment goals.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience with two of those years functioning in a recruitment capacity.  Must be computer literate to include a strong familiarity with Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher, and function comfortably in a Windows environment.  Must have good organizational and interpersonal skills and an eye for detail.  Must be available and willing to work extended hours to include some evening and weekend hours.  Some recruitment trips may require travel by air and overnight stays. Must have a valid driver’s license in order to occasionally drive a rented or ministry-owned vehicle for the purpose of admission recruitment trips.

Assistant Director of Missions and Outreach

Full-time

Assists the Director of Missions and Outreach to oversee all operational, financial, and personnel matters of both the Missions and Community Outreach programs.

A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required and a minimum of two-three (2-3) years related experience required to include:  mission based programs, community based programs, or a combination of outreach based programs.  A thorough understanding of the University is helpful.   Requires prior experience in supervising employees, student workers or student leaders, and/or volunteers in a university or similar setting.  Must be proficient in the use of MS Word and Excel and willing to learn Power Point, Access, and other programs as they pertain to assigned reporting areas.  Must be able to quickly establish and maintain rapport with administration, faculty, university staff, students, national and the international community.  Must be able to articulate thoughts well for the purpose of effectively communicating information one-on-one, and in a group setting.   Requires good reading, oral, written, grammatical, editing, bookkeeping, and proofreading skills.  Must have the ability to handle the stress associated with meeting deadlines for multiple projects in assigned reporting areas while handling interruptions.

Digital Media Specialist - Marketing dept.

Full-time

Utilizing current and emerging web tools to advance the Marketing mission.  The Digital Media Specialist will be the primary leader in the implementation of digital media for the marketing of campus-supported endeavors. The primary role will involve the development of digital media projects and provide input on leading edge digital media hardware and software.

A bachelor’s degree is required preferably in Marketing or Strategic Communications, programming, or marketing.  Requires proficiency in standard web design, WordPress development, web app development, mobile web development, writing for the web, and aptitude for mastering emerging tools and trends.  Writing, editing, and multitasking skills are essential. 

Must have proficient knowledge of Programming language, Dreamweaver, PowerPoint, Flash, Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator and other software required for maintaining and creating website content and reports.  Must be able to work independently, trouble-shoot and offer solutions to anticipate and solve issues.  Experience in coding HTML, XHTML, CSS and working with JavaScript ASP.Net and SQL preferred.  

Excellent interpersonal skills required and the ability to work with all levels of management and departments.  Must be detail oriented, work well under stress, and able to meet deadlines. Good reading, oral, math, written, grammatical, spelling, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills a must.

Director of Restricted Accounting

Full-time

To implement, direct, plan, and evaluate the financial administration of all temporarily restricted and permanently restricted accounts; ensuring compliance with all donor stipulations.  Responsible for overseeing the financial reporting of fixed assets and external investments to ensure accuracy on University records. 

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA, and five years’ experience in Fund Accounting including supervisory experience.  Prefer higher education accounting background.  Must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and be able to learn other software used in the department.   Requires strong communication, analytical, critical thinking, leadership, team building, and mentoring skills.  Must be detail oriented, and have the ability to work under stress while dealing with deadlines and time pressures. 

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS will include but not be limited to:  standing, standing,  walking, bending, stooping, reaching, repetitive motion, twisting of upper body, manual dexterity for operation of machines/equipment, and lifting up to 25 lbs. of storage boxes on occasion. Graduate School of Theology & Ministry Representative

Full-time

The Graduate School of Theology and Ministry Representative is responsible for managing recruitment efforts for the Graduate School of Theology and Ministry.  Performs all significant recruiting and admissions functions necessary for the university to successfully accomplish its educational business and serve the admissions needs of the constituents of the university. 

A Bachelor’s degree in Theology or a directly related field is required.  Master’s degree preferred.  Requires a minimum of two (2) years related work experience.  Cold-calling and sales experience or marketing experience is a plus.  Must have experience in public and interpersonal communication and be able to perform as an ambassador, exhibiting genuine enthusiasm for the University.  Must have the ability to work both as a team member and independently. Excellent problem solving, leadership and time management skills are a must.  Requires excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to articulate information well, both verbally and in written form.  Remains flexible with regard to external factors that may affect the work schedule. Examples:  Change in flight plans, perspective students or parents who require an immediate response, etc.  Must be computer-literate to include Microsoft applications.   Desktop publishing and/or design skills a plus.  Good spelling, grammar and mathematical skills are a must as well having an eye for detail.

Recruiter/Territory Manager - Undergraduate Admissions

Territory Managers are responsible for managing the recruitment efforts for assigned regions within the United States.  They perform all significant recruiting and admissions functions necessary for the university to successfully accomplish its educational business and serve the admissions needs of the customers of the university.

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree (ORU graduate preferred.) and one (1) year of related work experience in a similar work setting preferred. Bi-lingual, Spanish-speaker preferred.  Must be computer literate to include: Word, Excel and Power Point.  Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and be able to articulate information well, both verbally and in written form.  Must be self-motivated and able to prioritize projects; able to use sound judgment regarding organizational and departmental regulations, procedures, and policies; and quickly establish and maintain rapport with students, faculty, alumni, administration, and parents from varying cultural backgrounds.  Must have the ability to prioritize multi-tasks in the midst of a fast-paced, high-demand work environment while always maintaining a professional demeanor.

Regional Development Director

To create strong relationships with ORU Donors and ORU Alumni with the goal of cultivating and soliciting major gifts for ORU.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in related field and two (2) years applicable experience preferably in sales or marketing.  Ability to cultivate a relationship with a particular territory or group of clients is extremely helpful in the position.  Prefer sales, entrepreneur, marketing, and high human interaction experience.  Should be proficient in Word and Excel and be willing to learn other internal software systems associated with tracking donor information.  Good reading, mathematical, oral, written, grammatical, editing, proofreading, and organizational skills are a must.  Must have an eye for detail.  Individual must have displayed ability to be a self-starter and to work well independently as well as work as a team member. Excellent interpersonal skills are paramount for effective communication with people from various backgrounds.

Residence Hall Directors - Dean of Women

Full-time 10 months

Assists the Dean of Women’s Office in the overall supervision of all undergraduate female students with specific responsibility to the residence hall to which they are assigned.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree, on-going Masters work in counseling related field preferred, and one year experience in residential life.  Good written, oral, interpersonal, leadership, administrative, and organizational skills a must.  Must be able to handle emergency situations and make sound on-the-spot decisions. 

Must live on campus and be on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Lifestyle must be in complete accord with the ORU Honor Code.

Staff Accountant - General Accounting

Full-time

Prepare, process, record, reconcile, analyze, adjust and report financial data to include journals and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in accounting coursework.  Prefer  one to three years experience, but will consider recent graduate.  Prefer CPA candidate.   Must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.   Experience with computerized financial systems preferred.  Requires good communication, organizational, interpersonal, mathematical, bookkeeping, and proofreading skills.  Must be detail oriented, and have the ability to work under stress while dealing with deadlines and time pressures.

Student Success & Retention Analyst - Enrollment Management

Full-time

Works in the implementation of student success and retention programs and initiatives to proactively address student and parent concerns as well as barriers to persistence.  Provides guidance, leadership, coaching, mentoring and academic plans for students determined to be at risk of attrition. Prepares, compiles, processes and maintains various retention-related statistical data, including weekly, daily and monthly reports.  Assists Director in achieving and maintaining retention goals.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in related field, such as: Education, Business, or Counseling.  Prefer two years University related, exempt level experience.  Must have previous experience with effective communication and problem solving strategies.  Must be able to effectively communicate ORU’s policies and procedures to parents and students verbally and in writing.   Must have a customer service mindset and excellent organizational skills.  Computer experience should include MS Word & Excel.  Requires good grammar, punctuation, mathematical, spelling, and proofreading skills.  Must have an eye for detail and the ability to work under stress while meeting prescribed deadlines.   Must have the ability to learn quickly and use good judgment regarding policies and procedures. 

  • Prefer familiarity with Banner Software Program, competency in SQL Plus programming language, and collegiate federal financial aid background.
