Administrative Secretary for Career Services

Full-Time

A Brief Overview:

Provides the necessary administrative support to the Career Services department.  Ensures the efficient operations of all activities within the department; coordinates and assists with the interaction of students, alumni, faculty and staff of ORU, and the representatives of external organizations engaged in student employment/ career related activities with Career Services.  Provides backup and support to the activities of the Director and Career Advisor in their absence or during periods of high volume of student activity.

Duties include answering and screens incoming telephone calls, providing relevant information to employers, supplying instructions to students in regards to online resources, post with job postings/internships, process necessary paperwork for employment, greet a screen offices visitors, answer and screen incoming phone calls and other duties assigned.

         A service-minded attitude.

         Proven ability and problem solving skills.

         Ability to work independently.

         A High School Diploma or GED.

         Three years of applicable experience.

A Brief Overview:

Under the direct supervision of the Vice President this position provides administrative and secretarial support to their department. In addition to being responsible for general office operation, performs duties such as: coordinating mass and individual mailings, meetings, international and stateside travel, and conferences; financial record keeping; obtaining supplies; and working on special projects. Also, answers non-routine correspondence and assembles highly confidential and sensitive information. Deals with a diverse group of important external and international callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload, and recommends changes in office practices or procedures.

A Brief Overview:

This position processes student applications for aid for fall, spring, and summer through financial aid packaging and provides customer service and financial aid knowledge for students with in-depth questions about their financial aid. As well as reviews and originates Direct Loans for the undergraduate population under the supervision of the Loan Coordinator.

What you'll need to be successful:   

         A service-minded attitude.

         Proven ability and problem solving skills.

         Real world examples of demonstrated organizational, communication, and time management skills.

         Ability to work independently.

         A Bachelorís Degree

         One year of experience in a financial aid or student services setting.
